Fortnite: privacy & terms
What we ask for when you look up a Fortnite account, and who we actually ask.
Who we ask
Not Epic. Epic has no public stats API, so Fortnite numbers come from fortnite-api.com, which is a third party that reads what Epic makes public. That means two things worth knowing: the numbers are only as good as what they can see, and if they go down, so does our Fortnite page.
What we ask for
Your display name and your public match stats. Matches, wins, eliminations, time played and the split across solo, duos, squads and limited time modes. Nothing else, and only when somebody types a name in.
Your match history has to be public
In Fortnite: Settings, then Account and Privacy, then turn Public Match History on. If it is off, nothing comes back at all, to us or to anyone. We cannot see a private account and would not want to.
What we keep
A cached copy of the result for two hours so a shared link does not cost a fresh lookup every time somebody opens it. After that it is gone. We never crawl, never bulk fetch, and never build a list of accounts.
